RESTORATION OF AN OLD INK STAINED PHOTOGRAPH
A photograph capturing the golden age of American boating,
a vintage Chris-Craft speed boat racing across the waters of Long Island Sound, had suffered years of neglect and careless handling, leaving the image marred by ink stains, paint splatters, and numerous scratches. Once emblematic of the elegance and craftsmanship that defined early 20th century pleasure boating, the photograph held both historical and sentimental value.
To preserve the image, the original photograph was carefully cleaned to remove accumulated dirt and dust, and every effort was made to eliminate as much of the surface damage as possible. A high resolution photo scan was then produced, allowing the remaining imperfections that could not be physically repaired to be meticulously restored through digital retouching, returning clarity and vitality to this beutiful maritime scene.
