RESTORATION OF A ROLLED UP PHOTOGRAPH
Restoration of document or photographs that were rolled up and stored for many years in dry attics or cold and humid basements is one of the most challenging and difficult of restoration tasks.
Since trying to unroll a dry rolled up photograph may cause a photograph to crack, tear or even fall apart into many pieces, first the photograph has to be carefully and repeatedly humidified in order to introduce moisture into the layers of the photo paper and to make it pliable. Often the procedure has to be repeated many times and it can take weeks to carefully unroll a photograph inch by inch.
